Procurement centers under-weigh on pretext of lack of quality.

The paddy farmers who are already struggling to transport the harvested crop to the procurement centres & Rice Mills due to the labour shortage following COVID-19 lockdown have to face an additional burden of ‘wastage’, which is almost 6 kgs per quintal of paddy.

Farmer associations claim losses around ₹500 crores in the Nizamabad-Jagtial districts.
